The organic food business is booming around the world with coffee having the greatest value of any organic import to North America. Colombian coffee is considered the best in the world since the Colombian Coffee Federation has the strictest export quality standards. New Colombia Resources aims to deliver the best organic and traditional coffee to the domestic market as well as the export market since many in Colombia feel they are cheated out of good coffee.
“With coffee bean prices at an all time low, we feel this is the best time to enter the coffee business since the price on the shelf for organic coffee doesn’t reflect the low futures prices. In reference to coking coal, I feel the recent upgrade of met coal stocks is very encouraging since we expect to begin selling coal in the coming months after prices have recovered,” stated John Campo, President of New Colombia Resources.

Colombia Coal Sector

According to the World Energy Council, Colombia had 6,814 million short tons (MMst) of recoverable coal reserves in 2007, consisting largely of bituminous coal and a small amount of metallurgical coal. The country has the second-largest coal reserves in South America, slightly behind Brazil. Colombia’s coal is relatively clean-burning, with a sulfur content of less than 1 percent. Over the past decade, production has more than doubled, reaching 86.7 MMst in 2008. Colombia’s coal consumption was only 5.2 MMst in 2008, leaving most of the country’s production available for export; in 2008, Colombia was the fourth-largest net coal exporter in the world.

Colombia completed the privatization of its coal sector in 2004 with the closing of Minercol, the former state-owned coal company. The largest coal producer in Colombia is the Carbones del Cerrejon consortium, composed of Anglo-American, BHP Billiton, and Glencore. Drummond Co. operates the second-largest coal mine in Colombia, La Loma producing about 20 MMst per year.

Currently, most Colombia coal exports go to Europe, North America, and Latin America, as the vast majority of Colombia’s coal producing and exporting infrastructure is located on the Caribbean coast. Coal is an important part of the Colombian economy: in 2009, coal represented about one-quarter of total export earnings, and mining taxes and royalties paid to the Colombian government exceeded $1 billion. During the first nine months of 2009, the United States imported 13.6 MMst of coal from Colombia, about 80 percent of total U.S. coal imports.

Why Consider New Colombia Resources, Inc. (OTCQB: NEWC) Today - Investment Considerations

New Colombia Resources, Inc. is in perfect position to takeNEWC sign up advantage of the World's Growing Demand for Coal Production as it sets its sights on one of the hottest regions on the Globe for Coal; South American Hot Spot - Colombia

NEWC enjoyed a very favorable run up since late November, 2012. Reaching highs of over $0.08 per share, NEWC has experienced some selling pressure of late. History of Mining Companies have proven to take time in reaching any level of acceptable success. Many of the start-up production activities, environmental/permitting processes, fund raising and dozens of other necessary steps take time, sometimes a lot of time. The primary reason retail investors keep a close eye on Mining plays is the upside potential can be a strong reality coupled with the value of proven potential returns.

Retail Investors, or more of today's 'Day-Trader', can influence the price per share. However it should be noted that the astute investor is aware that the real potential value is actually in the ground, the proven reserves.

With NEWC's LA TABAQUERA mine having a potential value of $75 million proven reserves, the Company's new neighboring mine could be a golden add-on and should be in production soon once the permitting is complete.

Globally, many analysts predict coal will actually overtake oil to become the world's single-largest power source over the next five years, thanks to strong growth in demand from world markets including China and India. The critical point for individual investors is to find the stable and secure players in the coal sector — companies like New Colombia Resources, Inc. (OTCQB: NEWC).

Some industry analyst believe Coal Production Could Overtake Oil Production as the World's Top Energy Source. One of the biggest factors behind the rise in coal use has been the massive increase in the use of shale gas in the US. Coal is abundant and found in most regions of the world, unlike conventional oil and gas, and can be cheaply extracted. As a result, coal was used to meet nearly half of the rise in demand for energy globally in the past decade. According to the IEA, demand from China and India will drive world coal use in the coming five years, with India on course to overtake the US as the world's second biggest consumer. China is the biggest coal importer, and Indonesia the biggest exporter, having temporarily overtaken Australia.

New Colombia Resources, Inc. (OTCQB: NEWC) has recently caught the attention of the investment community as of late. Investors started accumulating shares of NEWC since Tuesday Nov 27, 2012.

NEWC has begun the environmental and geological studies on its wholly owned La Tabaquera coal mine with an estimated 17 Million tonnes of mostly metallurgical coal. According to the given prices and estimated amounts in reserve, the gross value of La Tabaquera Mine is US$ 70,230,825. By taking into account a maximum of 70% exploitability, the mining assessment would amount to US$ 49,161,578

The company also has a letter of intent with an existing shareholder to acquire a neighboring concession with another estimated 80 Million tonnes of reserve.

Once a concession is acquired and the necessary financing is obtained, the Company will begin all the required environmental and geological studies to get them into production as efficiently as possible.

There's a lot of interest in Coal Production coming out of Colombia. So much so, that a Goldman Sachs-led group recently purchased coal assets from the world's second-biggest miner - Brazilian miner Vale - worth more than $405,000,000 Dollars this year.
